Williams & Humbert walnut brown Oloroso Sherry butt,

Tasting notes
On the Eye:
Deep obsidian black.
Breathe In: Layers of ripe exotic fruits and creme caramel.
As time moves on, soft tobacco smoke, aromatic orange
peel and rich black cherry come to the fore.
Taste: Intense flavours of mango, passion fruit and acacia
honey interwoven with a powerful combination of coffee
and tobacco smoke.
Savour: A wonderfully long and decadent finish with tropical

ARC-52 Beyond Limits
Almost two
years since Aston Martin and Bowmore revealed their
debut collaboration, the partnership has hit new
heights with the release of
ARC-52. The highly-aged whisky, one of the
oldest ever released by
Bowmore, is the first in a new series and is
presented in a decanter that pushes the limits of
bottle design.
The
52 Year Old is not just
one of the oldest ever released by Bowmore, but one
of the most expensive. Each decanter will be priced
at $75,000, and that is
excluding local
taxes. But with just 100
available in 2022, demand will far outstrip supply.

year old
A
marriage of single malt matured for a remarkable 52 years in a
sherry butt and an American oak ex-Bourbon hogshead. This
exceptionally rare Bowmore is a
true masterpiece of balance; showcasing the masterful skill and
commitment to considered cask maturation and management at
Bowmore Distillery. A time machine,
half Bowmore, half
Aston Martin, travelling in two
directions at the same time. The spirit pushes the limits of
maturation whilst the decanter showcases cutting edge design and

Beyond
limits
A
truly futuristic take on a whisky vessel design, seen through
the lens of some of the world’s foremost and ground-breaking car
visionaries. The design merges natural and man-made contours and
shapes in a striking creation which effectively balances on two
points, making it seem almost weightless. |

Tasting notes
Appearance:
A deep gold.
Nose:
Orchard fruits and mandarin with just a hint of smoke and sea
salt. A bit of time in the glass reveals those elusive minty
notes reserved for only the oldest of fine and rare
whiskies.
Palate:
Remarkably fresh. A fruity start with green grapes and
clementine coming through alongside Bowmore’s signature
light-peat style. The wood influence begins to take over, with
notes of hazelnuts and walnuts.
Finish:
The medicinal finish comes through right at the end as the fresh
fruit fades and evolves into something more indulgent like
butterscotch.
Verdict:
We know not many of these bottles will be opened in the near
future. This will be an investment for some, artwork for others.
Only a small fraction of those will buy it to drink. But it will
inevitably be consumed one day, and those lucky individuals will
enjoy a whisky that has been aged to perfection. So often,
whiskies of this age can be overwhelmed by the wood, but this
has kept a remarkable level of vibrancy whilst absorbing the
best characteristics of an excellent aged whisky. |
